Russia launched a major overnight attack on Ukraine, targeting Odesa and Dnipro with drones and missiles, according to Reuters. Ukrainian officials said the strikes damaged residential buildings, infrastructure, and public facilities, with dozens of people injured.

In Dnipro, local authorities reported injuries including children, while Odesa saw damage to homes, a school, a kindergarten, and historic buildings. Ukrainian officials also said three foreign-flagged ships were hit near Odesa in the Black Sea, raising concern about risks to shipping and regional trade routes.

Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched hundreds of drones and multiple missiles during the attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called for stronger European defence support after the latest strikes.

At the same time, Russia reported Ukrainian drone attacks in its Belgorod region, where local officials said civilians were killed and injured. Moscow also faced one of its largest drone attacks in more than a year.

Both Russia and Ukraine deny intentionally targeting civilians, but civilian areas continue to suffer heavy damage as the war continues. The latest attacks show that the conflict remains intense on both sides, with long-range drones and missiles playing a growing role.
