Meta has officially introduced a range of premium subscription plans for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, sparking discussions among users worldwide. Many people initially believed the platforms would become fully paid, but Meta clarified that the free versions will continue to operate as usual.

The new subscription plans are designed to provide extra features and advanced tools for users who want an enhanced experience. According to reports, Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus are expected to cost around $3.99 per month, while WhatsApp Plus may cost $2.99 monthly.

Subscribers will gain access to premium profile customization options, exclusive themes, special stickers, super reactions and advanced story insights. Meta is also introducing business-focused plans such as “Meta One Essential” and “Meta One Advanced,” which include verified badges, stronger security, improved reach and reels boosting features.

In addition, Meta is expanding its AI services with dedicated subscription plans. Users subscribing to Meta AI packages will receive access to advanced AI image and video generation tools, along with more powerful AI-assisted features.

Technology analysts say Meta is following a similar strategy to platforms like Telegram Premium, Snapchat Plus and X Premium. The company aims to create optional paid services without removing access to the free versions used by billions worldwide.

As a result, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are not becoming fully paid platforms. Regular users will still be able to use messaging, posting and calling features without any subscription fee.
